Policy Hierarchy
University System of Georgia (USG) policies and procedures govern, control, and manage USG and all USG institutions, including the University of Georgia.
University-level policies and procedures apply to UGA students, faculty, staff, and visitors and are developed and approved through appropriate governance and administrative processes. These policies establish a standard for both organizational and individual conduct, outlining expectations and requirements for the UGA campus community.
Individual units (e.g., colleges, schools, centers, institutes, departments) may create,
communicate, maintain, and enforce policies that are applicable to their respective
authority, as long as these are consistent with and not in conflict with official
UGA, University System of Georgia, or Board of Regents policies
