For the purpose of human resources management, all employees of the University are considered to be grouped in three broad classifications: faculty and administrative officers, exempt staff personnel, and non-exempt staff personnel.
Faculty and Administrative Officers - This group consists of the corps of instruction and the administrative officers of the University.
The corps of instruction has been defined in the Policies of the Board of Regents to include full-time professors, associate professors, assistant professors, instructors, special lecturers, and teaching personnel with such other titles as have been approved by the Board. Full-time research and extension personnel and duly certified librarians are included in the corps of instruction on the basis of comparable training.
Administrative officers are defined to include:
- President
- Vice Presidents
- Deans
- Directors, administrative and academic
- Department Heads
- Other positions specifically designated by the President
