Reason for Policy

All UGA affiliated food service establishments are subject to the State of Georgia Rules and Regulations governing Food Service (290-5-14), which are enforced by the Clarke County Health Department.

Procedures

In the event of a proposed food service establishment at a UGA affiliated location, please contact the UGA Environmental Health Coordinator for guidance. All UGA Athens campus affiliated food establishments are inspected by the Athens-Clarke County Environmental Health Department in conjunction with the UGA Environmental Health Coordinator a minimum of two times per calendar year. All other UGA affiliated establishments are inspected by their local County Environmental Health Department.

Record Retention

Inspection records as well as incident reports are kept on file by UGA Auxiliary and Administrative Services Division, Food Services.
