There is no formal policy statement for this topic however procedures and other information
are provided below.
Reason for policy
All UGA affilated food service establishments are subject to the State of Georgia
Rules and Regulations governing Food Service (290-5-14), which are enforced by the
Clarke County Health Department.
In the event of a proposed food service establishment at a UGA affiliated location,
please contact the UGA Environmental Health Coodinator for guidance. All UGA Athens
campus affiliated food establishments are inspected by the Athens-Clarke County Environmental
Health Department in conjuction with the UGA Environmental Health Coordinator a minimum
of two times per calendar year. All other UGA affiliated establishments are inspected
by their local County Environmental Health Department.
