Dial 911 for emergencies. For non-emergencies, the UGA Police Department’s Communications Division (Dispatch) can be contacted at (706) 542-2200 (TTY 706-542-1188 for hearing impaired callers) 24 hours a day for reporting a crime, in reporting suspicious activity or for general assistance. Communications personnel are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to assist with a variety occurrences. Sworn police officers will be sent to meet with the caller at the caller’s request or if the facts surrounding an incident warrant additional law enforcement investigation and follow up.
Members of the public are also welcome to visit the UGA Police Department at the Hodgson Oil Building to meet with police personnel. The University of Georgia Police Department’s address is 286 Oconee Street, Athens, GA 30602. The administrative offices for the UGA Police Department are open from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday and can be contacted at (706) 542-1032. The police department’s records area is open from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday and can be contacted at (706) 542-5813. Walk in visits are also welcome at any time. Visits after normal business hours will be facilitated through a buzzer/call box located outside the main entrance of the Hodgson Oil Building.
